Your guide through every step of Self-Direction

Self-Direction gives your family more control over services — and you don't have to figure it out alone.

Budget Development

I build your Self-Direction budget from scratch — designed around your loved one's real goals, not a template. Every dollar is allocated with intention.

Circle of Support

I help you form a strong team — including your Care Manager, FI, family, and anyone who knows your loved one best — and keep everyone coordinated.

Habilitation Plans

I develop tailored habilitation plans aligned with your family member's goals — whether it's community involvement, skill-building, or daily living support.

Ongoing Support & Advocacy

I don't disappear after the budget is approved. Monthly reviews, FI coordination, staff support, and a phone that's always answered — that's the standard.

Local Resource Connection

I know Long Island — the community classes, day programs, recreational options, and IDGS possibilities that families in Nassau and Suffolk can actually access.

Staff Recruitment Help

Need to hire self-directed staff? I help with recruiting, onboarding, and coordinating the background check process so you find the right people.

An independent broker who actually shows up

The difference between a good experience and a frustrating one often comes down to one thing: attention.

01

I Pick Up the Phone

Same-day response to calls and emails. You'll never wonder where your broker is or if your message was received.

02

Intentionally Low Caseload

I limit the number of families I work with so every single one gets the time, focus, and care they deserve.

03

Long Island, Through and Through

I live and work here. I know the DDROs, the FIs, the local programs, and the community resources your family can access.

04

No Jargon, Just Clarity

I explain everything in plain language. You'll understand your budget, your options, and your rights — every step of the way.

Launch & Ongoing Support

Once approved, I help with staff hiring, FI coordination, monthly budget monitoring, and everything in between. I'm a phone call away — always.

Self-Direction can feel complicated. It doesn't have to.

Self-Direction is a Medicaid-funded program through New York's OPWDD that allows individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (and their families) to manage their own services. Instead of an agency making decisions, you choose your staff, your programs, and how your budget is spent.

A Support Broker helps you develop your Self-Direction budget, form your Circle of Support, create habilitation plans, coordinate with your Fiscal Intermediary and Care Manager, find community resources, and manage your plan on an ongoing basis. I'm your guide and advocate through the entire process.

Agency brokers work within larger organizations and may carry high caseloads. Independent brokers like me work directly for you — with smaller caseloads, more personalized attention, and the flexibility to focus entirely on your family's needs. You have the right to choose either option.

Support Brokerage is a Medicaid-funded service — it's included in your Self-Direction budget. There is no out-of-pocket cost to you for my services.

Yes — you have the right to change your broker at any time. If you're not getting the support you need, I can help you make a smooth transition without disrupting your services.

I serve families across Nassau County and Suffolk County on Long Island, New York. I attend COS meetings in person and I'm deeply familiar with local resources, programs, and service providers in both counties.
